This particular fact makes it one of the rarest coins in the whole wide coinage history of the USA. These particular coins were especially minted for the distribution into the high ranking government officials and the collectors only.

Recently, in a private auction this particular coin is supposed to be sold for $2 Million. As per the experts estimates if you find one such coin in pristine condition then it can be easily sold for $9-10 million apiece. In order to identify the coin you should look for the S mint marks on the back of the coin below the image of the wreath and the date 1894 on the coin.

2. 1975 No-S Roosevelt Dime

Like many other rare and high value coins, the story of this particular coin also starts with a minting error. In 1975 the US Mint in San Francisco, made a mistake when they accidentally minted, few Roosevelt dimes that didn’t have any mint marks on them. They were a batch of proof coins that were minted in the San Francisco mint and  should have contained S mint mark but owing to the die error the mint mark was missed completely.

Now if we were to talk about the value of these coins, then one specimen of the 1975 No-S Roosevelt coin was sold for $456,000 in a private auction and currently there are only few such coins in the known existence. While looking for the coin make sure that the coin has the right 1975 date and has no mint mark, also ensure that it is from proof set and there has been no tampering done with the coin.

3. 1968 No-S Roosevelt Dime

Like our rare coin above, this particular coin also follows the same footsteps. This particular Roosevelt dime was the predecessor of the 1975 coin and became rare due to a minting error. In the year 1968 the San Francisco Mint was set to produce the proof Roosevelt Dimes for that particular year, however due to a die error they minted the coins without any mint mark.

The S mint marks were missing from the coin. If we were to talk about the value and the notable sales of the coin then it was recently sold for $50,000 and as there are very few specimens of this particular coin available, if you find one of high grade you can get the top dollars for the same.

4. 1976 Bicentennial Quarter

The Bicentennial Coin is one of the most iconic coin series in the history of America. This particular design was introduced in 1976 when the US Celebrated their 200 years of independence. The 1976 Bicentennial Quarter truly represented the spirit of US 200 years of independence, with the coins having the image of the colonial drummers at the back of the coin. A total of 1.6 billion coins were produced across different US Mints in 1976, leading to their wide circulation till this date.

However, there are few rare versions of the coin available, owing to some minting errors like proof coins that were struck on the wrong metal planchet and with different die varieties. Officially no 1976 Bicentennial Quarter were sold for $1 Million, some of the error and the silver proof coins have been sold for around $10,000. 5. 1969-S Doubled Die Obverse Dime

These particular dimes became rare because of the Double Die Error in their minting process.
